Stale

Sorry it’s been a little stale around here lately. I guess I’ve been uninspired.

However, today’s song has inspired me. Today’s Song? you ask? Let me explain.

Every morning I wake up with a song in my head. It can be a song that I heard yesterday, or a song I haven’t heard in years. It’s weird how these songs just come out of my head. I wonder what I’m dreaming about that inspires these things. Anyway, I’ve talked with a very few people about this Today’s Song phenomenon. Some people look at me like I’m crazy, and others say that it happens to them too. I’m wondering if it only happens to music lovers? I’m not sure – I’d love to hear about it in your comments. But, if I don’t grab hold of the song when I first wake up, it is gone forever to the place where forgotten dreams go too.

So what is Today’s Song? We are the World. Yep, that’s the one. I bet I haven’t heard it since 1986. We had the album when I was a kid. Album as in album, LP, record… Weird.

  1. I completely understand. Sometimes Ashley and I will turn to each other and ask ‘what song is in your head’, and the answers can be extremely random. So I don’t think you’re weird at all 🙂

  2. I seem to have had the same song stuck in my head for weeks now…”hot dog hot dog hot diggity dog…” 🙂

  3. Yes, I always wake up with a day-long earworm.
I had We Are the World in my head just the other today!

Today, I’m sorry to admit, that I have a song from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in my head: Close every door to me, keep those I love from me, children of Isreal…

I think today’s earworm is due to the fact that I learned Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber is composing a new show.

  4. I wake up every day with a song in my head, too! What’s really weird is when it’s just some weird song of my own creation. Those actually tend to be annoying.

Great, Ashley…now I have the hot dog song in my head.

  5. Hi Janie,
    you’re not crazy.
I guess some people just have it.
    Charlie is just like you.
He actually sing his ‘today’s song’ loud every morning.
Since I’m not an early bird, I do not feel like singing in the morning.
He told me that I do not love music as much as he does.
    He’s right. ^^*

Oh, happy birthday to you !!!!!
