I have been working on French Braiding since here. During this process, I realized that I braid backwards. I never even realized there was a right-side-up or up-side-down method! Instead of a braid that is inside (next to the scalp), the braid is on the outside (popping out from the head). I’ve seen this called a Dutch Braid, but I don’t know if that’s standard. (I do wonder what the Dutch did to deserve this under/outside braid, as opposed to the French with an top/inside braid… A side story I guess.)
At any rate, I have been practicing and I think I finally mastered it. I won’t bother retraining myself to learn how to braid correctly, but I’ll just work with what I can. I’m happy with it, and it keeps Samantha’s growing bangs out of her face. (These pictures are even after a day at school!) (Wow, that’s a lot of parentheses.)
Next, Samantha wants me to learn how to do a Fishtail Braid.
